Frequently asked questions

How can I try FinishTrax?

FinishTrax is available for iPhone and iPad. View FinishTrax on the App Store . It requires iOS 26 or later.

Does FinishTrax sync across devices?

Yes — optionally. You can enable iCloud sync in Settings → Backup & Sync. Your data syncs through Apple's private CloudKit database, which only you can access. iCloud sync is completely optional; the app works fully offline without it.

Does FinishTrax send push notifications or reminders?

No push notifications, no reminders, no badges — nagging is a design non-goal, and FinishTrax waits for you to open it. One honest exception: when a countdown timer you started reaches zero, the app fires a single local notification on your device so you can walk away while it runs. That alert never leaves your phone, and you can mute its sound in Settings.

Can I use FinishTrax without iCloud?

Yes. All your data is stored locally on your device by default. iCloud sync is an optional feature you can enable or ignore completely.

What is the Focus mode?

Focus mode lets you zoom into a single task branch so everything else disappears. You see only the task and its subtasks, with breadcrumb navigation to stay oriented. A "Next Focus" queue at the bottom lets you move through tasks deliberately without jumping around.

Does FinishTrax have a Pomodoro timer?

Yes. Every task has its own focus timer, and 25 minutes — the classic Pomodoro — is one of the presets, alongside a gentler 20 minutes, a count-up stopwatch, and any custom length from 1 to 999 minutes. What makes it different from a standalone Pomodoro app is that the task comes with the timer: its subtasks sit right under the clock so you can tick them off without leaving, and the progress bar moves while the time is still running. One honest limit — FinishTrax does not run automatic work/break cycles. You start each session yourself, and it ends with a sound only if you asked for one.

What is the Heatmap?

The Heatmap is a month calendar that shows you when you completed tasks — darker days mean more tasks finished. It's not a streak counter or a score; it's honest history. After enough completions, it also surfaces patterns like which days and times you tend to finish work.

How do I back up my data?

Go to Settings → Backup & Sync → Export. You'll get a JSON file you can save anywhere — Files app, AirDrop, cloud storage. You can import it back at any time. The export includes tasks, notes, images, time blocks, completion history, and settings.

What iOS version does FinishTrax require?

FinishTrax requires iOS 26 or later. It works on iPhone and iPad.

How much does FinishTrax cost?

FinishTrax Pro is available as Weekly Access ($1.99/week, no free trial), Annual ($39.99/year with 7 days free for eligible Apple Accounts), or Lifetime ($99.99 one-time, no free trial). Prices are in USD; your local App Store price appears at checkout. Every plan unlocks the same complete app. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your App Store settings.

Does FinishTrax collect any of my data?

Your task data stays on your device or in your private iCloud database if you enable sync. Optional anonymous usage analytics uses PostHog and is off by default. RevenueCat provides purchases and restores access. The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic traffic metrics. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email us at support@finishtrax.app with a description of the issue and your iOS version. Screenshots or screen recordings are always helpful — but a rough, half-remembered description still helps. Don't wait until you can write the perfect report.

Still need help?
